Tighten Packing Nut or Adjusting Ring

If water leaks around the handle base when the faucet is on, the packing nut or adjusting ring might be loose. Shut off the water supply. Remove the faucet handle. Use an adjustable wrench to gently tighten the packing nut (located below the handle stem). Don't overtighten. Reassemble the handle and test.
