Use Borax/Boric Acid Baits and Diatomaceous Earth

4

Description

This method combines sanitation with low-toxicity baits and desiccants to target ants and roaches.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Clean Thoroughly: Eliminate food and water sources. Wipe down counters, sweep floors, store food in sealed containers, fix leaks, and empty trash regularly.
  2. Seal Entry Points: Caulk cracks and crevices where pests might enter.
  3. Ant Bait: Mix equal parts borax (or boric acid - use cautiously) and powdered sugar. Add a little water to make a paste. Place small amounts on index cards or bottle caps near ant trails (keep away from pets and children). Ants carry the sweet bait back to the colony.
  4. Roach Control: Sprinkle food-grade diatomaceous earth or boric acid lightly in areas where roaches hide (under sinks, behind appliances, in dark corners, along baseboards). These powders abrade the pests' exoskeletons, causing dehydration. Reapply as needed, especially if it gets wet.
