Coat blades with oil after each use
3
A thin oil coating creates a barrier between the blade and moisture, preventing the oxidation that dulls and rusts razor blades between shaves.
Steps
- Rinse and dry the razor thoroughly after shaving.
- Apply a small drop of mineral oil, baby oil, or vegetable oil onto the blades.
- Spread lightly across all blade surfaces with a fingertip or cotton swab.
- Rinse off the oil before your next shave.
Tips
- Mineral oil works best because it doesn't go rancid like vegetable oils can
- Baby oil is mineral oil with fragrance — works equally well
- This is most effective when combined with proper drying and dry storage
