Clean the bezel and frame separately from the screen
3
After cleaning the screen panel, address the plastic bezel (frame) separately using a slightly damper cloth than you would use on the screen itself. The bezel is more durable than the display panel, but excess moisture near the edges can seep behind the screen and cause permanent damage.
Steps
- Clean the screen first: Always finish the screen panel before moving to the frame.
- Dampen a cloth: Use a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild screen-safe cleaner.
- Wipe the bezel: Gently clean the plastic frame, working away from screen edges.
- Dry immediately: Wipe with a dry cloth to prevent moisture from migrating behind the panel.
Tips
- Keep the cloth drier near the seam where the bezel meets the screen to avoid moisture seepage
- For stubborn marks on matte plastic bezels, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the cloth is safe — but keep it well away from the screen panel itself
