Use Climate Controls Correctly (AC + Defrost)

Description

The air conditioning system dehumidifies air. Combining it with the defrost setting quickly clears fog by circulating dry air over the windshield.

Recipe/Instructions

1. Select the 'Defrost' setting on your climate control panel (usually directs air to the windshield).
2. Turn the temperature control towards warm (optional, but warm air holds more moisture).
3. Crucially: Turn ON the Air Conditioning (AC) button, even if you have the heat on. The AC compressor removes moisture from the air before it blows onto the windshield.
4. Set the fan speed to high initially.
5. If possible, select 'Fresh Air' intake (not recirculation) to bring in drier outside air.
6. This combination provides the fastest way to defog windows using the car's systems.
