Wrap brushes or rollers tightly in plastic wrap or foil
5
Wrap wet brushes or rollers in plastic wrap or aluminum foil to create an airtight seal that stops the paint from drying out. Keeps applicators usable for several hours to a full day without cleaning.
Steps
- Scrape excess paint from the brush or roller against the can edge or tray ramp. Do not rinse.
- For brushes, wrap the bristles tightly in plastic wrap or foil, sealing around the ferrule to block air.
- For rollers, wrap the entire cover in plastic wrap or slide it into a zip-top bag, squeezing out air before sealing.
- Store flat in a cool spot out of direct sunlight.
Tips
- Works with both latex and oil-based paints
- Double-wrap for overnight storage to ensure a tighter seal
- A rubber band around the ferrule holds the wrap securely in place
