Recipe/Instructions

  1. Identify common objects you have available:
    • US Dollar Bill: Approximately 6.14 inches long and 2.61 inches wide.
    • Credit Card/ID Card: Standard size is about 3.37 inches long and 2.13 inches wide.
    • Standard Sheet of Printer Paper (US Letter): 8.5 inches wide by 11 inches long.
    • Quarter (US Coin): Diameter is just under 1 inch (approx. 0.96 inches).
  2. Place the object repeatedly along the length you need to measure, counting how many times it fits.
  3. Multiply the count by the object's known dimension to get an estimated measurement.
