Add felt pads or shims to the short leg

3

Stick self-adhesive felt pads of varying thickness to the bottom of the short leg until the furniture sits stable. For larger gaps, cut a thin wood shim to size and glue it to the bottom of the leg.

Why It Works

If the wobble is caused by one leg being slightly shorter or an uneven floor, adding material to the bottom of the short leg brings all four contact points to the same plane. No disassembly or woodworking required.

Tips

  • Felt pads in 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm thicknesses let you fine-tune the correction
  • For larger gaps, stack pads or use a rubber furniture cup
  • Felt pads also protect hardwood floors from scratches
  • This is a quick, reversible fix — no permanent changes to the furniture
