Run an extra high-spin cycle before air drying
4
After the regular wash finishes, run one additional high-speed spin cycle to extract as much water as possible before hanging clothes to dry.
Why It Works
A high-speed spin mechanically forces water out of fabric far more effectively than air alone. Removing more water upfront can cut air-drying time roughly in half, which is a significant time-saver for large family loads.
Tips
- Most modern washers spin at 1,000-1,400 RPM on the highest setting; use the maximum your machine offers
- Skip the extra spin for delicates, woolens, and items with embellishments, as high G-forces can damage them
- Combine this with any air-drying method (clothesline, rack, hangers) for fastest results
