Disable chat history and training data sharing

Most AI tools let you opt out of having your conversations used for model training. In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Data Controls > turn off "Improve the model for everyone." In Claude, conversations are not used for training by default on paid plans. Check each tool's privacy settings.

Why It Works

Opting out means your conversations are stored only for basic service operation (and often deleted after 30 days) rather than becoming permanent training data that could surface in other users' interactions.

Tips

• ChatGPT also offers "Temporary Chat" mode that is not saved at all
• Claude does not train on user data by default, but check the current policy
• Review privacy settings whenever a tool updates — defaults can change
