Move hives at night or early morning

Moving hives at night or in the early morning leverages bee behavior to minimize stress and escapes. During these times, most bees are inside the hive and are less active due to darkness or cooler temperatures. This reduces the risk of bees flying out during the move and becoming lost or agitated. Closing hive entrances just after dark or before dawn confines the bees within the hive for transport.
