Hardware cloth barrier

Creating a hardware cloth barrier around the base of hive stands is an effective way to physically prevent skunks from accessing the underside of elevated hives. Hardware cloth, a sturdy wire mesh, should be wrapped around the legs of the hive stand, extending from the ground to the hive body.
