Pollen patties drying out

Pollen patties are supplemental bee feed made from pollen substitute, sugar, and sometimes other ingredients, used to provide protein to bee colonies, especially during times of pollen dearth or colony buildup. However, pollen patties can dry out and harden if exposed to air for extended periods, particularly in dry or hot conditions. Dried-out patties become less palatable and less accessible to bees, reducing their effectiveness as a food supplement. Preventing pollen patty drying is important to ensure bees readily consume them and receive the intended nutritional benefit.
