Use KonMari Vertical Folding for Drawers
The KonMari method, popularized by Marie Kondo, folds clothes into compact rectangles that stand upright in drawers. This maximizes drawer space and lets you see every item at a glance without disturbing the rest.
How It Works
Using a T-shirt as an example: lay the shirt face-up and fold one side about one-third toward the center, folding the sleeve back onto the folded section. Repeat on the other side to form a long rectangle. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, bringing the bottom edge up toward but not quite reaching the neckline. Fold in half or thirds again to create a small rectangle that can stand on its folded edge. Arrange these folded items vertically in the drawer like files in a filing cabinet rather than stacking them flat.
Best For
Dresser drawers and shelved storage. The vertical filing approach works for T-shirts, pants, sweaters, and undergarments. It eliminates the common problem of forgetting clothes buried at the bottom of a stack.
