Use activated charcoal to absorb odors

4

Place activated charcoal inside the refrigerator to remove persistent odors. Its highly porous structure traps odor molecules through adsorption, making it one of the most effective passive deodorizers available.

Why It Works

Activated charcoal is processed at high temperatures to create millions of tiny pores, vastly increasing its surface area. Odor molecules bond to this surface and are held there, effectively removing them from the air.

Tips

  • Use charcoal sold specifically for odor removal, not grilling briquettes which may contain additives.
  • Replace or reactivate every 1-2 months, or per product instructions.
  • For a DIY approach, place loose activated charcoal in a breathable cloth bag on a middle shelf.
