Use Household Oil or Petroleum Jelly

If you don't have spray lubricant, apply a few drops of household oil (like 3-in-1 oil, sewing machine oil, or even olive oil in a pinch) onto the hinge pin and joints. Alternatively, smear a small amount of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) onto the hinge pin. Open and close the door to distribute the lubricant. This method might require removing the hinge pin partially or fully for better application.
