Boil Vinegar/Water then Add Baking Soda

Description
This technique uses acidic vinegar and the fizzing reaction of baking soda to lift burnt material.
Recipe/Instructions
- Pour equal parts white vinegar and water into the pot or pan, enough to cover the burnt area by about an inch.
- Place the cookware on the stove and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
- Boil for 1-2 minutes.
- Carefully remove the pot/pan from the heat and place it in a sink (or on a heat-resistant surface).
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda to the hot liquid. It will fizz vigorously.
- Let the mixture cool for 15-30 minutes.
- Discard the liquid and scrub the pan with a non-abrasive sponge or scraper. The burnt food should come off much more easily.
- Wash as usual with soap and water.
