Use a Magic Eraser (Very Cautiously)
1
Description
Melamine foam sponges (Magic Erasers) are abrasive and can sometimes remove paint scuffs or very light scratches, but carry a high risk of damaging the clear coat.
Recipe/Instructions
- Disclaimer: This method is risky and can easily dull or damage the clear coat if not done extremely carefully. Test on an inconspicuous area first. Not recommended for deep scratches.
- Clean the area thoroughly.
- Slightly dampen the Magic Eraser sponge with water.
- Rub the scuff or scratch very gently with minimal pressure for only a few seconds.
- Wipe clean immediately and inspect. If the scuff is gone but the paint looks dull, you may need to follow up with polishing compound and wax.
- Stop immediately if you see paint color transferring to the sponge or the paint looks hazy.
