Description
Transferring heat via the key can sometimes melt ice inside a lock mechanism.
Recipe/Instructions
- Caution: Only heat the metal part of the key. Avoid melting any plastic fob components. Do not make the key red hot.
- Carefully heat the metal blade of your car key using a lighter or match for a few seconds.
- Gently insert the warm key into the frozen lock.
- Hold it there for a moment to allow heat to transfer.
- Try to turn the key gently. Repeat the heating process if necessary.
- Be patient and gentle; forcing the key can break it or damage the lock.
