Description

Transferring heat via the key can sometimes melt ice inside a lock mechanism.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Caution: Only heat the metal part of the key. Avoid melting any plastic fob components. Do not make the key red hot.
  2. Carefully heat the metal blade of your car key using a lighter or match for a few seconds.
  3. Gently insert the warm key into the frozen lock.
  4. Hold it there for a moment to allow heat to transfer.
  5. Try to turn the key gently. Repeat the heating process if necessary.
  6. Be patient and gentle; forcing the key can break it or damage the lock.
