5

Description

A battery maintainer (also called a trickle charger or battery tender) provides a continuous low-level charge to keep the battery topped up without overcharging it.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Purchase a smart battery maintainer appropriate for your vehicle's battery type (e.g., lead-acid, AGM).
  2. Connect the maintainer's leads to the battery terminals according to its instructions (usually red to positive, black to negative or ground).
  3. Plug the maintainer into a standard AC wall outlet.
  4. The maintainer will monitor the battery voltage and automatically provide charge only when needed, preventing both discharge and overcharge.
  5. Leave it connected whenever the car is stored for extended periods (weeks or months).
