Roll wet clothes in a dry towel to absorb moisture
4
Lay a clean, dry bath towel flat, place the wet garment on top, and roll both together tightly. Press down firmly along the rolled towel to squeeze moisture from the garment into the towel, then unroll and hang to finish drying.
Why It Works
The dry towel acts as a wick, absorbing a large amount of water through direct contact and pressure. This can remove enough moisture to reduce air-drying time noticeably, especially for thicker fabrics.
Tips
- Use a thick, absorbent towel for best results; thin towels saturate too quickly
- This method is ideal for delicates, sweaters, and knits that should not be wrung or spun at high speed
- You may need to repeat with a second dry towel for very heavy items
- Lay knit items flat on a dry towel after rolling rather than hanging, to prevent stretching
