Wash in cold water after pre-treating and check before drying

After pre-treating any stain, wash the garment in cold water with regular detergent. Before putting the item in the dryer, check that the stain is completely gone. If any trace remains, repeat the pre-treatment and wash again.

Why It Works

Cold water is the safest default after pre-treatment because it will not set any remaining stain compounds. Machine dryer heat permanently bonds many stain types — especially protein-based and oil-based stains — to fabric fibers. Once heat-set, stains become nearly impossible to remove.

Tips

• Air dry stain-treated items rather than machine drying until you confirm the stain is fully gone
• Never assume the stain is gone just because it is hard to see on wet fabric — check when dry
• If the stain persists after two treatments, try a different method suited to that stain type
