Microneedle the scalp with a dermaroller

Sterilize a 0.5-1.5mm dermaroller with rubbing alcohol. Roll it across thinning areas in multiple directions (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) with light pressure. Do this once per week. Avoid applying minoxidil for 24 hours after microneedling.

Why It Works

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that trigger a wound-healing response, stimulating collagen production and growth factors in the scalp. A 2013 study found that combining microneedling with minoxidil was significantly more effective than minoxidil alone.

Tips

• Start with a 0.5mm roller and work up to 1.5mm as your scalp adapts
• Replace the roller every 3-4 uses as needles dull
• Mild redness and tenderness for 1-2 days after is normal
