Apply BTI bits for quick-acting larvicide

What to Do

Sprinkle BTI mosquito bits (granular form) into small water containers, plant saucers, puddles, and other breeding sites where dunks would be too large. BTI bits release the bacterium immediately on contact with water, killing mosquito larvae within 24 hours.

Why It Works

BTI bits provide rapid knockdown compared to dunks, which release Bti slowly over 30 days. The granular format is ideal for small, temporary water sources that appear after rain and need immediate treatment. Like dunks, bits are non-toxic to people, pets, fish, and wildlife.

Tips

• Also effective against fungus gnats in houseplant soil — sprinkle on the soil surface and water normally
• Bits are consumed faster than dunks and need more frequent reapplication
• Use bits for quick action in small sources; use dunks for sustained treatment in larger water features
• Can be combined with dunks for layered protection
