Size your paddle grip correctly
4
A properly sized grip improves control and reduces the risk of elbow and wrist injuries. Too small causes excessive wrist action; too large limits maneuverability.
How to Measure
- Open your dominant hand face-up with fingers extended
- Measure from the bottom lateral crease of your palm to the tip of your ring finger
- This measurement (typically 4–5 inches) is your ideal grip circumference
Standard Sizes
- Small hands (under 6.75"): 4.0" grip
- Medium hands: 4.25" grip
- Large hands (over 7.5"): 4.5" grip
Tips
- Test fit: grip the paddle normally and try sliding your other index finger between your fingertips and the heel of your hand. It should fit snugly
- If between sizes, choose smaller — you can add an overgrip (adds 1/16 to 1/8 inch)
- Use the continental grip (like shaking hands with the paddle) for the most versatile hand position
