Delete accounts step by step on each platform

Each platform has a different deletion path. Facebook: Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion > Delete Account. Instagram: Settings > Account Center > Personal Details > Account Ownership > Deactivation or Deletion. X: Settings > Your Account > Deactivate. TikTok: Settings > Manage Account > Delete Account.

Why It Works

Platforms intentionally make deletion harder to find than signup. Knowing the exact navigation path saves frustration and ensures you actually complete the process rather than just removing the app.

Tips

• Revoke third-party app access before deleting — some apps retain your data even after account deletion
• Remove your phone number and change your email to a disposable one before deleting as an extra privacy step
• Google your specific platform + "delete account" for the most current steps, as platforms change their settings menus frequently
• After deletion, the platform may retain some data for legal or operational reasons for up to 90 days
