Use 1/2" Hardware Cloth (Not Chicken Wire)

5
  1. Solution: Construct or reinforce all sides, top, and potentially the bottom of enclosures with 1/2" or 1/4" galvanized hardware cloth.
  2. Explanation: Chicken wire is designed to keep chickens in, not predators out. Raccoons can reach through it, and smaller predators like snakes and weasels can squeeze through the larger holes. Hardware cloth provides a much stronger barrier.
  3. Notes: Ensure it's securely attached to the frame with no gaps.
