Wired frames

Wired frames provide structural support to foundationless combs, significantly reducing the risk of collapse. These frames are pre-built with vertical wires embedded within the frame. When bees build comb on wired frames, they naturally integrate the wires into the comb structure, creating a reinforced comb that is much stronger and less prone to sagging or breaking, especially in hot weather or during handling. Wired frames are commercially available and are a popular solution for beekeepers using foundationless methods, offering enhanced comb stability and ease of management.
