Frame spacers
3
Using frame spacers can reduce propolis buildup and frames sticking to hive bodies. Frame spacers are small devices placed on frame rests within the hive body to maintain consistent bee space between frames and between frames and hive walls. Consistent bee space discourages excessive propolis deposition in these gaps. Frame spacers ensure uniform spacing, minimizing propolis sealing and making frame removal easier during inspections. Frame spacers are commercially available in plastic or metal and are placed on frame rests before inserting frames.
