Description
Popularized by Marie Kondo, this method folds clothes into compact rectangles that stand upright, maximizing drawer space and visibility.
Recipe/Instructions
(Example for T-shirt):
1. Lay the T-shirt flat, front facing up.
2. Fold one side towards the center (about one-third).
3. Fold the sleeve back onto the folded section.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for the other side, creating a long rectangle.
5. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, bringing the bottom edge up towards (but not quite reaching) the neck edge.
6. Fold it in half or thirds again, creating a small, compact rectangle that can stand on its folded edge.
7. Arrange these folded items vertically ('filed') in the drawer, like files in a cabinet, rather than stacking them flat.
(Similar principles apply to pants, sweaters, etc. - search 'KonMari folding' for specific item guides).
