Remove pet hair with a damp rubber glove or squeegee

5

Drag a damp rubber glove or a rubber window squeegee across car seats and carpet in firm, single-direction strokes. Pet hair balls up against the rubber and forms easy-to-grab clumps. Follow up with a quick vacuum pass.

Why It Works

Rubber creates friction and static charge against fabric, pulling embedded hairs free far more effectively than brushing alone. Dampening the glove increases grip on fine hairs.

Tips

  • Work in one direction rather than back and forth to form larger, easier-to-collect clumps
  • A squeegee works especially well on flat carpet areas; a glove is better for contoured seats
  • Rinse the glove periodically to remove accumulated hair and restore grip
