Use Coordinated Team Lifting
4
When an object is too heavy or awkward for one person, coordinated team lifting distributes the load so every lifter can still bend at the knees, keep the weight close, and avoid twisting.
Steps
- Recruit Enough Helpers -- Match the number of lifters to the object's weight and size.
- Designate a Leader -- One person coordinates the lift and calls the cues.
- Plan & Communicate -- Discuss the route, grip points, and lifting sequence before starting. Agree on verbal cues (e.g., "Ready? Lift on three.").
- Position Correctly -- All lifters take proper stance around the object so each can bend at the knees and keep the load close.
- Lift Together -- Lift simultaneously on the agreed cue, keeping the load balanced and level.
- Move Smoothly -- Walk slowly, communicate adjustments, and avoid any twisting motions.
- Lower Together -- Set the object down simultaneously on cue, each person bending at the knees.
Why It Works
Team lifting lets each person handle a manageable share of the weight while maintaining proper form. Clear communication prevents the sudden jerks and twists that cause injuries. Rating: 4/5 | AI Rank: 1.27
