Use Compression Bags

3

Description

Compression bags (vacuum seal or manual roll-up) remove excess air from bulky items like sweaters or jackets, significantly reducing their volume.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Purchase travel compression bags (either vacuum-seal type requiring a vacuum cleaner or manual roll-up type).
  2. Place bulky clothing items (sweaters, puffy jackets, etc.) inside the bag.
  3. Seal the bag according to instructions.
  4. Remove the air: either by using a vacuum cleaner nozzle on the valve or by tightly rolling the bag from the bottom towards the zippered end to force air out through one-way vents.
  5. The compressed items will take up much less space.
  6. Note: Clothes will be heavily wrinkled upon removal. These bags add weight even while saving space. Best for bulky, less wrinkle-prone items.
