Press out water gently — never wring or twist

5

After the final rinse, press the garment between your palms to squeeze out water, or lay it flat on a clean dry towel, roll the towel up, and press down to absorb moisture. Never wring or twist the fabric.

Why It Works

Wringing and twisting stretch wet fibers out of shape permanently, especially knits, silk, and wool. Wet fabric is significantly weaker than dry fabric — silk loses up to 20% of its strength when wet. The towel-rolling technique removes water through gentle, even pressure without distorting the garment's shape.

Tips

  • Use a thick, absorbent towel — a bath towel works well
  • You can repeat with a second dry towel for faster drying
  • For heavy items like sweaters, press down on the rolled towel with both hands
