Rebreed the doe within 1-3 days of kindling, using post-partum estrus. This can yield 10 or more litters per year but places extreme nutritional and physical demands on the doe. This schedule is used in commercial operations and is generally unsuitable for backyard rabbitries.

Why It Works

Does experience a fertile period immediately after giving birth. Breeding during this window maximizes the number of reproductive cycles per year. Commercial operations offset the toll on individual does through high-quality feed programs, climate-controlled housing, and planned culling of underperforming animals.

• Only attempt this schedule if you can provide premium 18-20% protein pellets, alfalfa hay, and supplemental calories consistently
• Expect higher doe burnout; does on this schedule typically remain productive for 1-1.5 years versus 2-3 years on standard schedules
