How do I remove white water rings or heat marks from wooden furniture?

Place a clean, dry cotton cloth over the white ring and press a warm iron (lowest setting, no steam) onto it for a few seconds at a time. The controlled heat draws trapped moisture out of the finish, often clearing the mark in minutes.

Spread a generous dab of mayonnaise, petroleum jelly, or olive oil directly onto the white ring and let it sit for at least one hour — overnight for stubborn marks. Wipe clean with a soft cloth, rubbing gently with the grain, then buff or polish as usual.

Mix equal parts non-gel white toothpaste and baking soda into a paste, apply it to a soft damp cloth, and gently rub the white ring following the wood grain for about one minute. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and buff dry.
