Description

These oily substances can sometimes penetrate the finish and displace the trapped moisture causing the white mark.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Apply a generous dab of mayonnaise, petroleum jelly (Vaseline), or olive/mineral oil directly onto the white ring.
  2. Let it sit for at least one hour, or even overnight for stubborn marks.
  3. Wipe off the substance with a soft, clean cloth, rubbing gently with the grain of the wood.
  4. The white mark should be diminished or gone.
  5. Buff the area with a clean cloth or apply furniture polish as usual.
