Gentle Heat with Iron and Cloth

4

Description

Applying gentle heat can help evaporate the trapped moisture from the finish.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Empty any water from your iron and set it to the lowest heat setting (NO STEAM).
  2. Place a clean, dry cotton cloth (like a t-shirt or tea towel, avoid terry cloth) over the white ring.
  3. Briefly press the warm iron onto the cloth over the mark for a few seconds.
  4. Lift the iron and cloth to check the progress. Repeat briefly if necessary, moving the iron slightly.
  5. Be very careful not to overheat the wood or leave the iron on too long, as this can cause further damage.
  6. The heat should draw the moisture out into the cloth.
  7. Buff the area afterward.

What makes the Dish Special

N/A - Uses controlled heat to actively evaporate the moisture, often working faster than oil methods but requires more caution.
