Clean oven door glass with baking soda paste

4

Make a thick paste of baking soda and water, spread it across the inside of the oven door glass, and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, then buff with a dry microfiber cloth for streak-free clarity.

Why It Works

The brown haze on oven glass is vaporized grease that re-condenses on the cooler glass surface. Baking soda paste dissolves this greasy film gently without scratching the glass. For the space between the glass panes, the door must be partially disassembled.

Tips

  • For stubborn haze, leave the paste on for 2-3 hours or overnight
  • A razor blade scraper held at a 45° angle can carefully remove thick carbonized spots on glass
  • To clean between glass panes: remove the door, unscrew the inner panel, clean both surfaces, and reassemble
  • Finish with a vinegar spray and microfiber buff for a crystal-clear result
  • Avoid abrasive pads or steel wool — they permanently scratch oven glass
