Soak with Hot Water and Dish Soap (or Dryer Sheet)

3

Description

A long soak can soften burnt-on food, making it easier to scrub away.

Recipe/Instructions

  1. Scrape out any loose food debris from the pan.
  2. Fill the pan with hot water and a generous squirt of dish soap.
  3. Let it soak for several hours or, for very tough jobs, overnight.
  4. Alternative Soak: Fill the pan with hot water and place a fabric softener dryer sheet flat on the bottom, ensuring it's submerged. Let it soak overnight.
  5. After soaking, discard the water (and dryer sheet, if used) and scrub the pan with a sponge or scraper. The residue should be significantly softened.
  6. Wash as usual.
