Hairspray for Permanent Marker (Use Cautiously)
2
Description
Some older types of aerosol hairspray contain alcohol that can act as a solvent for permanent marker ink.
Recipe/Instructions
- Test First: This method is risky on paint; test in a hidden spot.
- Spray a small amount of aerosol hairspray (the cheaper, alcohol-based kind often works best) directly onto the marker stain.
- Immediately blot the area gently with a clean cloth. Do not rub hard, as this can damage paint.
- The ink may transfer to the cloth. Repeat quickly if needed.
- As soon as the mark is lifted (or if it's not working), wipe the area immediately with a clean, damp cloth to remove hairspray residue.
What makes the Dish Special
N/A - An old household hack that might work in a pinch but carries a higher risk of damaging the wall finish.
