Use Oil (Hair) or Ice (Fabric)
Description
If gum is stuck in hair, massage peanut butter or any cooking oil (like olive or vegetable oil) directly into and around the gum. The fats and oils help break down the gum's stickiness, allowing it to be gently combed or slid out. For gum on fabric or carpet, harden it by rubbing it with ice cubes in a plastic bag or placing the item in the freezer until the gum becomes brittle.
Recipe/Instructions
Hair: 1. Apply a generous amount of peanut butter or oil to the gum and surrounding hair. 2. Massage it in gently for a few minutes. 3. Use fingers or a fine-tooth comb to carefully slide the loosened gum out. 4. Wash hair as usual to remove residue. Fabric: 1. Place ice cubes in a plastic bag and rub firmly over the gum until it hardens completely. 2. Use a dull knife, spoon edge, or credit card to carefully scrape off the brittle gum. Lift, don't rub. 3. If residue remains, dab lightly with rubbing alcohol or a commercial adhesive remover (test on an inconspicuous area first), then clean as usual.
