Gentle Heat with Iron and Cloth
4
Description
Applying gentle heat can help evaporate the trapped moisture from the finish.
Recipe/Instructions
- Empty any water from your iron and set it to the lowest heat setting (NO STEAM).
- Place a clean, dry cotton cloth (like a t-shirt or tea towel, avoid terry cloth) over the white ring.
- Briefly press the warm iron onto the cloth over the mark for a few seconds.
- Lift the iron and cloth to check the progress. Repeat briefly if necessary, moving the iron slightly.
- Be very careful not to overheat the wood or leave the iron on too long, as this can cause further damage.
- The heat should draw the moisture out into the cloth.
- Buff the area afterward.
What makes the Dish Special
N/A - Uses controlled heat to actively evaporate the moisture, often working faster than oil methods but requires more caution.
